Anti-reflective glass is a cutting-edge product that drastically reduces the reverberations characteristic of the classic float glass, appearing virtually invisible. The reflection of light on the surface is reduced to below 0.5%, which creates the impression of having no barriers by looking beyond the glass. Which means more brightness and transparency, a more neutral look and an exceptional color rendering.
These extraordinary features are made possible by the special ultra-thin optical coating, which is applied to the glass with magnetronic or pyrolytic technology. It is composed of metal oxides with excellent anti-corrosion properties that give the glass durability and abrasion resistance comparable to those of float glass, and is therefore also ideal for the outside and for high maintenance areas. In addition, it blocks up to 99% the transmission of ultraviolet radiation, helping to protect materials that tend to discolor when exposed to light.
Already today, anti-reflective glass is an important component in architecture, museums, design, electronics, automotive, etc. It is used in all those situations where it is necessary to have an unseen partition, enjoy optimal visibility, eliminate reverberations and glare, or maintain color fidelity. Frequent uses are: bulletin boards containing works of art, libraries, shop windows, showrooms, sports facilities and digital signage (wall display, information and advertising).
The possibilities of transformation are complete and similar to those of the classic float glass, also extending to curvature and silk-screen printing. It can be inserted in glass chamber, to create continuity between indoor and outdoor environment or improve the solar control values and thermal insulation of specific glass. It is available in layered version, which has advantages in terms of safety, durability and acoustic properties.
